![]() ![]() In her last days, she was energized by the many friends that came to visit her in her home to just chat. She had the privilege of mentoring many women who crossed her path. Her passion was to study and teach the Scriptures. She also served many years at Cornerstone Bible Church as the teacher of the Mary & Martha Sunday school class which she founded in the 1980’s. Emmie retired after many years of managing the Cornerstone Christian Bookstore in Snellville, GA. In 1972, the family moved to Lilburn, GA. It was there that she really grew in her Christian walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. After a few years they moved and settled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she learned to study the Bible at Metropolitan Baptist Church. She moved to California as a young married girl of 18, where her husband served in the U.S. She was born October 21, 1935, in Paragould, Arkansas at the home of her parents’ cotton farm. In His resurrection, we receive newness of life now and eternal life to come. He took our guilt upon Himself and credited His righteousness to our account. In His death, He suffered as our substitute and satisfied the divine wrath we deserved. In His life, He kept God's law on our behalf. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord.Ībout Jesus Christ: We believe that in His life, death, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus Christ accomplished salvation for sinners. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. They were happy to share their food and ate with joyful hearts."
